Chicken Prices Fall in Lahore, Punjab – Check Latest Rates

LAHORE: Chicken prices in Lahore and other cities of Punjab have dropped for the third consecutive day, following a decline in inflation.

In the past three days, chicken meat prices fell by Rs 26. On Thursday alone, the price dropped by Rs 12, bringing the new rate to Rs 490 per kilogram.

Similarly, the price of live chicken dropped by Rs 8, with wholesale prices now at Rs 325 per kilogram and retail prices at Rs 338.

Chicken prices list
  • Live Broiler (wholesale): Rs 300 per kg
  • Live Broiler (retail): Rs 324 per kg
  • Broiler Meat (retail): Rs 490 per kg
  • Eggs (per carton): Rs 10260

There was no change in egg prices, with eggs still priced at Rs 345 per dozen in Lahore and other cities of Punjab.

Meanwhile, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), weekly inflation, measured by the Sensitive Price Index (SPI), increased by 0.67% for the week ending November 21. The SPI for this week was recorded at 324.11 points, up from 321.94 points the previous week. Compared to the same week last year, the SPI rose by 4.92%.

The SPI tracks prices for 51 essential goods in 17 urban areas, using 2015-16 as the base year.
