Mahindra sales in Sept 2024 improved to 51,062 units and for the first time crossed the 51,000 mark. It has thus moved into third place after Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai and has displaced Tata Motors to a No. 4 spot. It is the Mahindra Scorpio-N and XUV700 that have kept buyers coming to its fold. The Roxx just launched and XUV3XO recently updated also significantly contributed to total sales.
Mahindra sells 51,062 units in September 2024
Mahindra sales stood at 51,062 units in Sept 2024. The domestic car manufacturer has consistently posted good demand for its SUV lineup. Sales were up 24% YoY to 41,267 units sold in Sept 2023. MoM sales also grew by 18% from 43,277 units sold in Aug 2024.
The company sold the highest number of its models as Mahindra Scorpio took the leading spot with sales of 14,438 units, retaining the No. 1 position. This was a 22% YoY growth from 11,846 units sold in Sept 2023.
MoM sales also came off a 5% growth from 13,787 units sold in Aug 2024. At No. 2 was the XUV700, which has posted a 13% YoY and 7% MoM growth in demand to 9,646 units in Sept 2024. There had been 8,555 units sold in Sept 2023 while in Aug 2024 sales had stood at 9,007 units. The XUV700 EV is also scheduled to be launched. It is presently running the test rounds and will be launched sometime in early 2025. Right after its launch, the Mahindra XUV700 EV will directly compete with the much-expected Tata Harrier EV and Safari EV.Safari EV

Mahindra XUV300/3XO sales were at 81% YoY and touched 9,000 units. Compared to the 4,961 units sold in Sept 2023, the sales were flat MoM. Mahindra XUV 3XO had its first price increase since April this year.
Despite the price hike, the XUV 3XO remains a strong contender in its segment. Mahindra Thar saw exemplary demand and sales rose to 8,843 units, 63% YoY, and 107% MoM. And it is now that the new Thar ROXX has proved to be the goad that was needed. That’s 5,417 units in September 2023; in August 2024 sales are at 4,268 units. The Thar Roxx 5-door, opened for bookings on 3rd October 2024, received tremendous response. It commands a waiting period of over a year.
Mahindra Bolero, Marazzo Sales Decline YoY
Mahindra Bolero saw 14% YoY lower sales down to 8,180 units from 9,519 units sold in Sept 2023. However, it made up good numbers in MoM sales which showed off a 26% growth from 6,494 units sold in Aug 2024. That was followed by the XUV400, sales of which are on a significant uptrend both on YoY and MoM basis to 948 units.
This is a 15% YoY growth from 825 units sold in Sept 2023. MoM sales were also up 33% from 713 units sold in Aug 2024. Mahindra Marazzo has not been doing too well in terms of sales. Sales had been month after month declining and hit as low as 7 units in September 2024. That was a massive 95% YoY drop from the sales of 144 units in Sept 2023. MoM sales also declined by 13% compared to the 8 units sold during Aug 2024.
